Preparation Template for Hiring a Frontline Sales Manager

It's easy enough to draw up a job description or advert for a sales manager that reads attractively - but avoids or misses the context of the real job to be done. The job of the frontline sales manager should be based on the real-sales-job-to-be-done.

Here's a useful Template to help you think through the context of the sales-job-to-be-done which in turn will shape the role and profile of a new sales manager hire. ACCESS TEMPLATE HERE.

For example, you might want to hire someone who has channel experience, but the real requirement is generating leads for the channel - a completely different task. Your reps might at best earn 40k-50k salary, but you end up with a manager who is used to working with reps that get paid 80k+. Or your aspiration is to move to 6-digit deals, but you hire a manager who only understands 10k deals at best.
